Meet the locals!

Cows and sheep graze many of the fields surrounding the cottage throughout the year
Dairy cows , usually in calf, and their young calves graze the fields throughout the summer months, during which the fields are managed to grow grass for silage for winter feed, when the cattle are moved in to sheds.

You may be able to watch the farmers use their machinery to cut and harvest the forage depending on when the crop is ready and at its best nutrient level.

During cooler months most of the surrounding fields are home to sheep and of course the gamboling lambs in spring, within the bounds of snowdrop & daffodil strewn hedgerows.

Throughout the year the hedgerows are an every changing tableau of wild flowers.

REVIEWS

Ryan - September 2024 (Airbnb)
Night 3 & 4 of a 7 day motorbike tour of Wales -
Probably the best place we stayed all trip, Nicola was extremely friendly and welcoming, we didn’t want for anything and anything we needed was sorted quickly for us. We had route recommendations for our ride the next day, food recommendations, house rules, and a tour on arrival.
It was very clean, cosy and warm. The beds were extremely comfy and all 3 of us had the best nights sleep of the entire trip.
When I needed to work on my bike Nicola quickly got us some tools that we were missing and we could do the work quickly.
The highlight has to be Maisie and Rico (Staffys)
I fell in love with them straight away and Maisie didn’t leave me alone (which is a good thing)
Will definitely be returning, mainly to see the dogs again but also Red Kite Cottage is a perfect base and a beautiful location for a relaxing stay.
Don’t go anywhere else if this is on your shortlist. You won’t be disappointed.

Hazel - January 2024 (Airbnb)
Beautiful, peaceful location. Cottage is gorgeous and well equiped. Bed was super comfortable. Nicola is a lovely host. Helpful, friendly and a great sense of humour, we enjoyed our chats. She also has great knowledge of Carmarthenshire and the surrounding areas. I would return to this cottage in a heartbeat!
